Former Arizona State Senator Tom Smith Endorses Jim Ward for Congress in 2010

Scottsdale, AZ (February 16, 2010) -- Jim Ward, Republican candidate for Arizona’s 5th Congressional District, today announced that former Arizona State Senator Tom Smith endorses his candidacy for Congress.

Former State Senator Tom Smith joins Congressman John Shadegg, former Governor Fife Symington and Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane in endorsing Jim Ward for Congress in the 2010 election cycle.      

A retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel, Tom Smith served as Arizona State Senator in District 26. His top priorities in office were to increase the quality of education, hold government agencies responsible for program evaluation, and improve juvenile crime prevention.  

Jim Ward is running for Congress in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District. He enters this race with significant business experience, giving him the knowledge and capabilities to address, troubleshoot, and improve the problems that are gripping our state and our nation. Today, Ward works closely with companies who are developing new technology to support our economy and job creation.
